Well this has been a very successful year Barbequing for us, Starting with our first grand champion too attending to the American Royal.

The American Royal was held October 3-4 this year they had 124 teams for the Invitational in order to participate in the invitational you must of been a grand champion of a qualifying event.

We had a very respectfully outing we placed twenty ninth overall, the next day was the open competition it is open to anybody that pays an entry fee. This year the had over 486 teams entered, we placed 51st overall with an 8th place in Ribs.

What a rush to hear your team name called and to get to walk up on stage with all the other winners in that group, very special.

Hopefully we can qualify to make back again next year.

Well this past weekend we went to Wagoner, OK to Whitehorn Cove Marina this was their first KCBS event. It was supposed to be held on Memorial weekend but was postponed due to flooding.

This event was very hard like most the teams were very tough the three best teams in Oklahoma were at this event, so we new it would be a fight. Overall I am very pleased with our success we place 4th in chicken, 6th in pork butt, 6th in ribs, and I blew it brisket 15th.

Well after three years of competing WE finally broke through and was GRAND CHAMPION at Caldwell this was an IBCA cook-off with 55 teams.

I have had several Reserve Grand Champions but this is my first GC. With this win we will be competing in Kansas City at the American Royal in October and I'm looking forward to it. Last year I was invited to help out Doug & Carrol Ritter of Ritter's BBQ because they both had qualified to cook I was their box runner for that weekend and I learned alot.

Thanks for all that have helped me along the way hopefully it won't be a one and done GC for me.
